This Andean festival pays homage to the Sun God and recreates rituals from the ancient Inca Empire with scenes that combine culture, identity, and connection with the Cusco environment.
The ceremony begins at the Qorikancha (from 9:00 to 10:00 am), the ancient Temple of the Sun, where the Inca meets the sun with traditional dances and music, evoking the beginning of a new solar era. Then, in the Plaza de Armas (from 10:00 am to 11:30 am), the Inca greets his people and authorities, a symbolic act of unity and recognition.
