SACSAYHUAMAN

Viajes Luna miel en Cusco

(Head of the great Puma) The city of Cusco was in the form of a Puma and Saqsayhuaman looked exactly like the puma head. It is situated about 3 km from the city of Cusco, an impressive Temple monument with magnificent stone architecture. It is also known as the Casa del Sol, where every year, on June 24, the ancestral ritual of Inti Raymi is performed. Thousands of people dressed in ancient costumes come to honor the celebration.

QUENQO

(Temple of the Pachamama or Mother Earth) It was a ceremonial center for rituals. In the amphitheater sacrifices were performed on black flame. Every winter, during the winter solstice, on June 21, the early sun illuminates the well polished bricks and the shadow that it forms as the shape of a Puma. From this natural phenomena"The Awekening of the Puma "the Incas began the great festival of Inti Raymi.

Destinos Luna miel en Cusco

P'isaq is one of the most important archaeological region. Possibly its name comes from a very common type of bird in this area known as "p'isaqa." Some scholars suggest that the pre-Columbian city was in the form of a "p'isaqa" representing the local fauna. Today it is a colonial town named Pisaq. Pisaq holds a famous local Market, full of crafts and local products.

OLLANTAYTAMBO

The archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo was a strategic military, religious and agricultural center. The architectural scene is exceptional in it size, style and the originality of its buildings. In Quechua language, the name comes from the word Ollanta (which is the name of an Inca captain, whose story was saved as an oral tradition, and written as a drama by Antonio Valdez , an Urubamba priest in mid-eighteenth century) Also a Spanish derivation of the word tampu (Tambo) Quechua, which means "City that offers accommodation, food and comfort to passengers.
