Enjoy one of the most comprehensive 5-day experiences in Cusco, where the ancient history, cultural richness, and Andean landscapes will amaze you at every turn.
High in the Peruvian Andes, Machu Picchu is a jewel of the Inca legacy. It continues to amaze the world with its stunning architecture and profound connection to the past. This wonder of the world invites you on an adventure to discover its natural surroundings and explore the secrets held within its stone walls.
Upon arrival in Cusco, either at the bus terminal or Alejandro Astete Airport, one of our representatives will greet you with a sign with your name on it. After welcoming you, we will transfer you in our tour vehicle to your hotel so you can settle in, rest, and get ready for the tour.
According to the itinerary, we will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the City Tour of the city's main historical sites. We will begin with a visit to the Temple of Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, considered one of the most important sites in the ancient Inca capital. This site is also the starting point of the famous Inti Raymi celebration.
We will then continue to the majestic Sacsayhuamán fortress, located approximately 5 kilometers from downtown Cusco, at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level. This impressive archaeological complex is known for its enormous stone walls and for being the central stage where the Inti Raymi performance is held.
The route continues to Qenqo, a ceremonial center where rituals and offerings were performed, followed by a visit to Pucapucara, known as "the red fortress" for the hues it takes on at dusk. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, an ancient ceremonial site composed of fountains and water channels, reflecting the sophisticated hydraulic engineering developed by the Incas and their deep spiritual connection with water.
Overnight stay: Cusco
On the second day, in the morning, around 6:30 a.m., one of our agents will pass by your hotel to escort you to the tour bus. From there, we will depart for the majestic Sacred Valley, located approximately 40 kilometers from the city of Cusco.
Our first stop will be the archaeological site of Chinchero, a place that still preserves vestiges of the Inca era. This ancient agricultural area is home to one of the most visited sites in the region: the House of Túpac Inca Yupanqui. Chinchero is also renowned for the skill of its artisans and their colorful traditional textiles.
We will then continue to Moray, a unique archaeological complex for its circular terraces. These served as an ancient agricultural laboratory, as each level presents a different microclimate. Thanks to this, the Incas were able to experiment and adapt various crops, domesticating multiple plant species.
Our next stop will be the Maras salt mines, an impressive collection of more than 3,000 shallow pools used since pre-Inca times for salt extraction. This natural resource originates from an underground saltwater spring that flows from the Qoripukuy hill—also known as the "golden spring"—and has been used ancestrally by more than 380 local families, who keep this tradition alive to this day.
After the visit, we will head to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. After lunch, we will board the bus again and continue to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, an approximate 30-minute drive. This site was an important administrative, military, social, and economic center during the Inca Empire, and also served as a strategic control point in the Sacred Valley.
