06:30 am Pick up from your hotel in Cusco.
We will immediately begin our visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas,40 minutes from the city of Cusco to the north.
After approx 40 minutes, we will arrive to Chinchero archaeological center, this living town still preserves the original Inca traces and is located in a very important agricultural area. The church and tower are from the colonial era, built on the basis of Inca temples. Also, in Chinchero we will see artisans offer locally made textiles, using ancestral techniques.
After our visit Chincero, we continued on the bus to Moray, which is a circular system of platforms built, taking advantage of the subsidence in the area. They are terraces with microclimates, for experimental purposes, such as domestication, acclimatization, hybridization and experimentation with plants.
Then we will visit Maras salt mines, they were exploited since pre-Inca times, there are more than 3000 ponds, shallow, owned by almost 380 families, this salt water comes from natural sources that filter from the same hill called Qoripukiu (Gold Source),after that, we will go to enjoy a delicious tourist buffet prepared with Sacred Valley products in Urubamba. After enjoying lunch we will continue on the bus for 30 minutes to reach the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo.
Ollantaytambo was a successively occupied area. In the Inca era it was another of the many multifunctional towns, it was an administrative, military, social and economic center, a control point for passage to various ecological floors.
After visit Ollantaytambo, we will take our bus and arrive at Pisac archaeological center, it is a name that comes from the Quechua word P'isaca (partridge). Their lands were used through intelligent terrace systems with their respective irrigation canals, which allowed the almost exclusive cultivation of the best corn in the world, Parcay Sara or giant white corn. Religious, urban, social and economic zones are distinguished. Generally, the Incas built in high, safe areas that were not very vulnerable, as well as on land not suitable for agriculture. Pisac market was originally only a typical market dedicated to the purchase and sale of various products, for the inhabitants of the place, currently the sale of crafts has been incorporated, thanks to the visits of tourists who are now daily. We will return to Cusco at approximately 7:00 pm at night.
