Also known as Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain, this natural gem is one of the most stunning landscapes in the Cusco region of Peru. It is a geological formation distinguished by its multicolored layers, the result of natural processes over millions of years. Located in the heart of the Andes mountain range, the Rainbow Mountain reaches 5,200 meters above sea level and is considered one of the most unique rock formations on the planet.

Very early in the morning (around 5:00 a.m.), our team will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the journey to the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca).
Once on board our transport, we will head toward the community of Cusipata, a journey that takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. From there, we’ll continue along a secondary road for another 30 minutes until we reach the town of Chillihuani. Along the way, we’ll pass through beautiful landscapes like Tintinko and Río Tigre, and from the town of Llacto, we’ll be able to admire the imposing Surina Mountain. Later, we’ll pass through the municipal checkpoint in Cusipata, where you’ll have the chance to observe typical Andean wildlife such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas in their natural habitat.
After about 20 more minutes of travel, we will reach the starting point of our hike.
We will begin the hike to the famous Rainbow Mountain, which will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Along the way, we’ll enjoy stunning views such as the Red Valley, snow-capped mountains like Ausangate, and small lagoons. Once at the summit, we’ll have time for lunch, rest, and take photographs of this spectacular landscape.
Then we’ll begin the descent along the same trail, which will also take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Upon returning to the starting point, our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco, a journey of about 2 hours. We expect to arrive back around 5:00 p.m., dropping you off at your hotel.
